Our Story

Elda’s Kitchen is inspired by Elda herself, Al’s mom, because she always loved cooking.

As it usually happens, in cases like this, it all started with an innocent comment across the Abronzino family dinner table…

“Dad, you should sell your Jamaican Jerk Sauce… it’s too good to keep to yourself!”

And so it all began for “Big Al” Abronzino and his family in 1993. Al had been in the grocery business for several years in California, and had a working knowledge of the industry. Armed with only one flavor, his original Jamaican Jerk sauce, Elda’s Kitchen Cooking and Grilling Sauces, was born.

And now, 20 years later, Elda’s Kitchen offers a variety of unique flavors of marinades, cooking and grilling sauces, and can be found in grocery and specialty stores throughout the United States and Canada. Last year, the company shipped over a quarter million cases of its 8 ounce bottles, and more than 50,000 cases of its one gallon bottles.

That is the cornerstone of Elda’s Kitchen.  Great homemade taste that is easy to use.

Elda’s Kitchen was recently featured in the Willow Glen Resident (San Jose, California).

In 1993, Abronzino says, “I decided to go out on my own.” It was a struggle, he says, until the Jamaican Jerk hot and mild sauces he was representing caught the eye of Whole Foods. That success resulted in a request to come up with other varieties for the chain of more than 300 stores in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
