BACON-WRAPPED WATER CHESTNUTS AND APRICOTS

This retro appetizer is sure to be a hit at your next party or get-together! With just a few ingredients and only a few minutes of prep and cook time, these Spyki-soaked, bacon-wrapped water chestnuts and apricots are juicy, savory, and just the right amount of spicy. We use Spyki or Honey Ginger & Soy when we make these, but you can use any Elda’s sauce you like to mix it up!

Ingredients

cowboy pinwheels

Directions

Soak your water chestnuts and your apricots in separate bowls filled with ⅓ cup of Elda’s Kitchen Spyki Cooking & Grilling Sauce. Let them soak for at least 10 minutes.

While your chestnuts and apricots are soaking, slice each piece of raw bacon lengthwise into 3 strips. You can also go ahead and cover a medium baking pan in aluminum foil.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

After your water chestnuts and apricots have soaked, take one water chestnut or apricot at a time and roll it up in a strip of bacon. Stick with a toothpick to hold the bacon in place. Once you’ve rolled all of your apricots and water chestnuts, place them on the baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool, and enjoy!
