BITE-SIZED CHICKEN SKEWERS

Tropical summer snacking is here! Cook up some Ginger Teriyaki bite-sized chicken skewers on your grill or stove top at your next BBQ! These apps go fast, so we recommend making several different types by mixing up the sauce, vegetable, and protein!

Ingredients

    • An 8oz bottle of Elda’s Kitchen Ginger Teriyaki Cooking & Grilling Sauce
    • 1 red onion, cut in chunks
    • 1 whole pineapple, cubed
    • 2 cups chicken, cut in chunks
    • Garlic powder
    • Salt and pepper
    • Mini-skewers (we used plastic swords for a theme. If grilling the skewers, be sure to go with a grill/heat safe skewer).

      Directions:

Chop and cube your vegetables, fruit, and chicken. Next, place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Add your chicken chunks, a few dashes of salt and pepper, and about 1 tablespoon of garlic powder.

After a minute or two, flip the chunks and add a bit more salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the cooked side. Let cook for another minute or two, then add a bottle of Elda’s Kitchen Ginger Teriyaki Cooking & Grilling Sauce. Stir to coat the chicken in the sauce and let cook. Once the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened a bit, remove from heat.

It’s time to assemble your bite-sized skewers! Add a piece of pineapple, a slice of onion, and a chicken chunk to each mini-skewer, serve and enjoy!

Optionally, you can also cook up the pineapple and onion in the same skillet you cooked the meat in! If cooking on the grill, you’ll want to skewer all your ingredients before grilling and be sure to baste with Ginger Teriyaki twice (at least) while grilling (once per side).
