Ingredients

cowboy pinwheels

Directions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove your puff pastry from the fridge and let warm up a bit. While the pastry is warming up, heat a small saucepan over medium heat. Once warm, pour in ½ an 8 oz bottle of Elda’s Kitchen Kentucky Bourbon Cooking & Grilling Sauce. As the sauce is heating, add your pecans to the sauce and stir. Add your honey and stir. Add bacon bits and stir.

When your pastry has warmed up, flour lightly and roll out into a rectangle.

Once rolled out, cut the pastry into 4 equal squares. Take 4 brie cheese wheels and center them on each square. Using a knife, cut squares into your brie wheels (essentially, cut about halfway down into the brie and make a tic-tac-toe board shape on the top of each wheel). These slits will allow the sauce to really soak into the cheese.

Once your sauce is sufficiently heated through, remove from the heat. Spoon a hearty serving on top of each brie wheel.

Next, you’re going to form the decorative puff pastry pouches around the brie. Take all 4 corners of a pastry square and bunch them together over the top of the brie wheel. It should look like a rounded pouch. (Be sure to check out the video on our Facebook page to see a tutorial on forming the pastry pouches).

Line a medium baking sheet with parchment paper and place all of your brie bites on it. Brush each one generously with egg wash.

Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the puff pastry is cooked through and a beautiful golden color.

Remove from the oven, let cool, and enjoy!
