CLASSIC CHEESEBURGER
No need to dash out to a diner to get that juicy, flavorful burger you’ve been craving; serve up gourmet burgers fresh off your grill or cooktop with this recipe for a craveable classic cheeseburger!
Ingredients
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 bottle of Brie’s Diner Burger Sauce
- A pack of your favorite buns (we used classic, fluffy buns for this one)
Toppings
- Caramelized onions
- Tomato, sliced
- Your favorite cheese, sliced (we used American)
- Lettuce, shredded
- Ketchup and mustard

Directions:
In a medium-sized bowl, combine your ground beef, salt, pepper, and ¼ bottle of Brie’s Diner Burger Sauce Cooking & Grilling Sauce. If you find your patties are not sticking together, you can add an egg to the mixture. Mix to combine using your hands or a wooden spoon. Once mixed, form patties by hand or using a press. If using your hands, form large balls (should cover your palm, a little smaller than a baseball). Press into 1/2″ patties. Push your thumb lightly into the center of each patty to help ensure an even cook. If time permits, let chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes (cold patties hold their shape better while grilling).
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt a tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add a patty or two to the skillet. Let cook, watching to see when the edges of the patty start to brown. Once they start to brown, flip them. We like to flip only once whenever possible in order to preserve moisture. If using caramelized onions, we like to add them to the cooked side of the burger while the second side is cooking.
As soon as the second side has started to brown, top your burger with a slice of cheese. Using a heat-safe bowl, cover your burger. This is our favorite way to get that gooey, melty cheese! Let the burger heat under the bowl for about 30-40 seconds or until you’ve achieved the level of melt you like! Ensure your burger has cooked all the way through and remove from skillet.
Time to build your burger! We like to build in this order: bottom bun, lettuce, patty, tomato slice, more of Brie’s Diner Burger Sauce, and then top with the top bun. Serve with your favorite fries, onion rings, tater tots, or a crisp wedge salad and enjoy!
