HOT WING CHICKEN & WAFFLES

For fried chicken:

1 lb Chicken Breast, cut into strips
2 c buttermilk
½ c Elda’s Kitchen Hot Wing Mix
4 cups vegetable or canola oil, or shortening
2 c flour
½ t salt
½ t pepper
1 t garlic powder
3 eggs, beaten
2 cups square corn cereal, crushed up

For waffles:

1 mixture of your favorite waffle batter, made up and ready to cook
1 cup of shredded cheese
1 T garlic powder

For syrup:

½ stick of butter
¼ c brown sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 ½ T pure maple syrup
Elda’s Kitchen Hot Wing sauce to taste

 

Instructions:

  1. Combine buttermilk and hot wing mix in a large bowl
  2. Soak chicken breast strips in buttermilk mixture from at least 2 hours to overnight.
  3. Add oil or shortening to large pot and heat on medium
  4. Combine flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large bowl
  5. Add chicken breast strips to seasoned flour mixture then in egg mixture until evenly covered
  6. Roll in the crushed corn cereal until evenly covered
  7. Add chicken to hot oil and fry until chicken is done (about 4 – 5 minutes) (can also be baked in the oven)
  8. For the waffles, mix up your waffle batter of choice
  9. Fold in cheese and garlic powder
  10. Cook waffles as desired
  11. Melt butter over medium heat
  12. Add brown sugar to pan and stir until butter and brown sugar are dissolved
  13. Add salt and stir to combine
  14. Turn heat down, then add maple syrup and stir to combine
  15. Add desired amount of Hot Wing Sauce and stir to combine
  16. Allow to cook down and thicken up (about five minutes)
  17. Plate the waffle and chickens with syrup and enjoy!
