KENTUCKY BOURBON BURGER
Two made-in-the-USA classics combine in this recipe for Kentucky Bourbon burgers! Real, honest to goodness Kentucky Bourbon is here to take your next burger night to the next level. This recipe feeds about 5 people but can be easily halved or doubled as needed.
Ingredients
- An 8oz bottle of Elda’s Kitchen Kentucky Bourbon Cooking & Grilling Sauce
- 1lb ground beef
- ½ teaspoon salt
- A few cracks black pepper
- Your favorite buns (we use fluffy sesame seed buns for classic flair)
Optional Toppings
- Mayo
- Arugula
- Your favorite cheese (we went with cheddar for this one)
- Tomato, sliced
- Onions, grilled/sauteed

Directions
For the patty
In a medium-sized bowl, combine your ground beef, salt, pepper, and ⅓ bottle of Elda’s Kitchen Kentucky Bourbon Cooking & Grilling Sauce. Mix to combine using either your hands or a wooden spoon. Once combined, use a burger press or your hands to form patties. If using your hands, form large balls (should cover your palm, a little smaller than a baseball). Press into 1/2″ patties. Press your thumb lightly into the center of each patty to help ensure an even cook. If time permits, let chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes (cold patties hold their shape better while grilling).
Grill to your preference. We recommend flipping only once to preserve moisture if possible! Ensure that your burger has cooked to a safe internal temperature and then remove from heat.
Assembly
Once cooked, it’s time to assemble your burger! Spread mayo on the bottom bun, then add arugula, your patty, and your choice of cheese. Top with a tomato slice, grilled onion, spread mayo on the top half of the bun and place it on top.
Serve with a side of classic potato chips or steak fries for a classic combo and enjoy!
