Ingredients:
- Water crackers
- Jams of choice, we used blackberry and raspberry
- Mini brie wheels or brie log
- Mini Babybel cheese wheels, removed from wax case
Honey Ginger & Soy Candied Bacon
- ½ an 8 oz bottle Elda’s Kitchen Honey Ginger & Soy Sauce
- ½ lb thick-cut bacon (we use Blackford’s Premium)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
Directions:
Candied Bacon
Lay bacon in a shallow baking dish and pour over a 1/2 bottle of Elda’s Kitchen Honey Ginger & Soy Sauce. Baste each side of the bacon and make sure each piece is well coated. Let this sit for 20 mins or up to 4 hours.
While the bacon is resting, preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with foil, place a baking rack on top, and spray the rack with a significant amount of cooking spray.
Remove marinated bacon from baking dish and lay on rack. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
Bake in the oven and cook for 45 mins at 300 degrees. If bacon isn’t quite cooked to your liking, turn heat up to 350 and cook for an additional 15 minutes, monitoring closely. Turn broiler to high and watch for a couple of minutes until the bacon starts to bubble, then remove from oven. Cut into quarters and set aside.
Savory S’mores
Set oven to broil and lay cheese out on a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet. Watch to ensure it doesn’t burn, cooking for a couple of minutes until it starts to melt.
Lay out the crackers, layering cheese on the bottom, and then topping with bacon. Spread jam on top cracker before sandwiching it on top of the bacon.
